NIFFF HORS-SÉRIE: ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT

Only a few days left to immerse yourself in the HORS-SÉRIE special edition of the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF)! And what better ally than the NIFFF App? It gives you access to the live NIFFF TV show every day at 9 p.m., as well as the replays and the 2020 film selection. The show is both entertaining and informative, revealing the secrets of film production.

Of particular note is the Saturday, July 11th show, in which our team will give Paul Schrader – a major figure of the New Hollywood mouvement and contemporary cinema – an honorary award, and will reveal which film has won the RTS Audience Award. Plus, if you miss a live show, don’t forget: they’re all available in replay on NIFFF.CH and on the app.

SATURDAY, JULY 11

For this last evening, the NIFFF will award its first ever honorary Narcisse Award!

It will be given to Paul Schrader, a major director of New Hollywood who made AMERICAN GIGOLO (1980), DOMINION: PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST (2005) and DOG EAT DOG (2016). He also wrote many iconic films such as TAXI DRIVER (1976) and RAGING BULL (1980) from Martin Scorsese, OBSESSION (1976) from Brian de Palma, and ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND (1977) from Steven Spielberg. Discover more about how he sees the cinematic art – past and future – and what he thinks of genre films.

Superstar YouTuber the Fossoyeur de films will offer a deep dive into one of the greatest science-fiction works of all time. Taking Frank Herbert’s book as a basis and navigating towards its David Lynch adaptation, as well as the highly anticipated version from Denis Villeneuve, François Theurel will guide you through Dune’s endless expanses for his NIFFF TV special segment.

And of course, the RTS Audience Award will be given to the film that was voted as the winner of this year’s programme.  Stay tuned!

Please note: You have until midnight Friday July 10 to vote for the films. After this deadline, you can still vote to participate to the raffle and try to win a Hamilton watch and a Festival Pass for the 20th edition of the NIFFF, but your votes will no longer be counted.
