After an edition that had to contend with the global health crisis, the NIFFF is happy to invite you to go back to the cinema. The travelling programme FANTASTIQUE 20 20 20 is going on the road to meet its public in all regions of Switzerland. World class films will be shown on various dates to celebrate twenty years of fantastic films, from avant-garde to instant classics.
Before the start of its national tour, the NIFFF had the honour of once more – thanks to its invaluable partnership with FANTOCHE – awarding the Fantastic Swiss Award to the best Swiss genre short film in competition.
THE TRAVELLING FANTASTIQUE 20 20 20 PROGRAMME IS BACK ON THE ROAD!
Started in May on the Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) channel, this retrospective is now invading your local Swiss cinemas. The programme includes about 10 films, all unmissable works that have helped make the fantastic the number 1 cinematic genre in the world.
While the NIFFF has become, in the last twenty years, a world-renowned festival, the fantasy genre has also undergone massive changes. In the first two decades of the 21st century, the festival has considerably grown, while new auteurs and trends have emerged. The future of the genre is brighter than ever.
The retrospective programme “20 20 20” looks back at 20 years of fantastic films, starting on September 24th at Cinema CityClub in Pully with ADAM’S APPLES, directed by Danish filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen.
This dark comedy sees a fascist trying to destroy a priest’s optimism and faith by any means necessary. The forces of good and evil quarrel in this black humour gem, which was rewarded at the NIFFF 2006.
