The film

On her way to visit her grandmother, Lucy
suddenly finds herself plunged into chaos. Bullets fly from all directions
while explosions seem to occur everywhere. It’s like an actual civil war just
started in the New York neighbourhood of Bushwick. In the turmoil, Lucy meets
veteran soldier Stupe, who accepts to take her to see her grandmother –
supposing she is still alive. Their fight for survival is only beginning…

With a very Children of Men
feel to it, this hard-hitting sci fi film takes an extremely credible political
conflict as the starting point for a flabbergasting experience. The directors
made the decision to shoot only in a series of one-takes which, right from the
opening sequence, immerse the viewer in this chaotic ballet of limitless dangers.
A narrative and technical triumph that shows the audience no mercy.

The directors

Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott met at the New York Parsons New School for
Design, and have been working together for more than 15 years. Their
collaboration started with an animation project, before expanding to new
horizons, including music videos, commercials, and films. They directed their
first feature in 2014 (Cooties, a horror comedy starring Elijah Wood). They
also made a few episodes of the TV show The
Off Season
before going in a completely new direction with Bushwick, their second movie.
